New Years Eve…

Hello peeps! I hope you’ve all had a great holiday and New Year’s Eve :) I went back to school today..after two weeks of blissful idleness and relaxation. I was in denial about going back until it hit 2012 at the countdown I went to.

Normally, I don’t find New Years Eve especially eventful or something to celebrate. People may make it seem like a huge leap/milestone as December 31st changes into a January 1st, but to me, it’s as eventful as October changing into November. It is not a huge deal, but this NYE, my best friend insisted on taking me out. As in nightlife out. I’m such a homegirl, blogging and Photoshopping being my preferred time killers, but this time I decided to give nightlife a shot. International kids in Hong Kong are insane partiers :P forgive my invented spelling, and since it’s NYE, meh I’ll make it eventful just as an excuse. Heh. I didn’t take part in the drinking or shisha, but I was all for the dressing up and getting made up. I felt so glam, ya know

My best friend is probably reading this… and will use it against me, but after experiencing the night scene so many kids in HK prefer for their Fridays, I was sure that something like this is not what I’d want in the future much. Sure, the dressing up and make up is fun, but then there are a lot more opportunities than drinking for that. :) Not that a little drinking and nightlife is wrong.

I ended up not sleeping at all on January 1st. My friend, Jobe, went down to the courtyard tables to help her friend mix up some vodka in nasty nasteh Ribena concentrate. If anyone likes vodka, NOT RIBENAAAA. Her friend, a “he”, was just talking and having fun with us and it was just so fun. I ended playing Ninjas Disperse with him and I tripped backward into a bush. :sigh: Always the girl to rely on hurting herself in whatever clumsy way possible. I ended up bruising the bone, and guess who had to sit for 8 hours today on a bruised butt. *hand raise* heh.

Overall, I love the sober socialising part of the nightlife, since I met some pretty funny people and saw hilarious drunken students, and I think I’ll take some of this insanity once in a while. Just anthropologically observing and shaking my bum to the music.

I don’t like butt cracks or thongs. H&M, lace, in my crack, NEHHHH. This line is dedicated to my throng-loving friend. God help her <3

As many times as I’m sure you’ve been asked, how was your New Year’s Eve and what’s your opinion on drinking?
